Summary of A Smart Exception

David Gergen is an professor of public service and he wrote this essay about the immigrants. He said there is a big problem of illegal immigration that we have forgotten how much we can gain from legal immigrant. Because we do not have enough source of vitality and jobs. First of all, talented foreigners will get a good job in the U.S. Secondly, foreign-born students dominate U.S. Thirdly, talented foreigners are job creators, not job takers. In addition, he introduced two main ways that high-skilled foreigners can entry to the U.S. One way is applying for permanent residency. Another way is applying for a temporary six=year visa, the H-1B. To sum up, he mentioned that welcome more foreign talent is a good way to solution the American job problems.

Reflection Process Speech

Process speech is the most interesting speech that we had in last month. The reason is that we had different topics and we need to prepare all materials to class. In this speech, we need to demonstrate a process and provide clear and logical instructions. According to my topic-How to open a coconut, I had three steps. First of all, my partner introduced and welcomed me to audiences. Secondly, I prepared a brown coconut, a hammer, a nail and a straw. Then I and my partner used hummer to hummer the nail until drill a hole. Finally, I put a straw in the hole and drank it. I like this speech that it is more interesting because everyone have their own topics. After I saw my classmates` speech, I got some new ideas to improve my speech. One is I need to organize the content more attractive and informative. Another is I should use more accurate and high level vocabulary. In conclusion, I got more new ideas from my classmates and they all show an awesome speech. From that, I can improve my speech level and make it better and better.
